Iowa Public Airports Association

Welcome to the Iowa Public Airports Association (IPAA). IPAA works hard to earn and maintain support for Iowa’s aviation industry. We provide information to and represent the interests of all of the public-use airports in Iowa.

The more members we have, and the more involved they are, the stronger our voice becomes. I encourage all visitors to this website to support aviation and promote aviation's contributions in Iowa. You won’t regret the time you invest! Thank you for your support, and I look forward to hearing from you on how we can be the best airport association possible.

4 States Airport Conference.

The 4 States Airport Conference is about 8 weeks away on August 29-30. The best hotel rates go to full price and the conference registration rates go up $100 less than four weeks away, July 27th. If you are playing golf there are a lot of openings still available.

This year we have a full exhibit hall of vendors and a packed schedule of informational courses.

Our luncheon speaker Acting FAA Regional Director, John Speckin will give you some insight as to what is coming.

See you at the Conference.

Rep. Rizer resigns from Iowa House for job flying jet aircraft
State Rep. Ken Rizer, a Marion Republican who isn't seeking re-election this fall, has resigned from the Iowa House, effective Friday, because he has accepted a new job flying jet aircraft out of Des Moines for a private air travel company.

Rizer, a retired Air Force pilot and commander who served four years in the Legislature, submitted his resignation to Gov. Kim Reynolds in a letter dated May 14. Iowa House Republicans didn't make the letter public until Friday, 11 days later.

"Personal and professional obligations will no longer allow me to serve my constituents effectively, and therefore I must resign my seat," Rizer said in a statement issued by House Republicans.

Because the Iowa Legislature has concluded its annual session, a special election won't be required to replace Rizer. His successor will be chosen in November's general election.
