The nonprofit Iowa Public Airports Association (IPAA) was founded in 1984 — an outgrowth of the Iowa Airport Executives Association. Membership is open to all public use airports in Iowa, as well as associates with an interest in Iowa’s aviation system and the industry that supports it. The association is under the direction of a 14-member volunteer board of directors.

Collaborating for the Benefit of Iowa’s Aviation System

IPAA brings together airport leadership and stakeholders in a collaborative effort to speak with a stronger voice, educate on the value of airports in Iowa and advocate for our public-use airports. We work closely with organizations like the Iowa DOT Bureau of Aviation.

Why Membership Matters

Together, Iowa airports are vital to the state’s economy, mobility of residents, accessibility to visitors and overall safety and security.

We’re not flyover country! We’re a destination and embarkation point.

Our airports, like our state, are at the center of unlimited opportunity for business, recreation, political engagement, education and social and cultural exchange.

That’s why IPAA membership is so important. Whether you’re an airport executive or an engineer, add your voice. Together, we’ll help keep Iowa CAVU.

Aviation Membership: Get Involved

Member airports are each entitled to a vote in association business. A general membership meeting is held annually at the spring conference. Non-voting associate membership is open to other organizations working in the aviation industry.
